You may have been fly fishing for a while but have been basically self-taught with a little help from friends perhaps. You catch fish but also blank more times than you like. Maybe you need to increase your field craft and use all the fly ranges and lines that are available to be more successful. I use a camera for all casting tuition, to assist the learning process. All my lessons are 1to1 only unless previously arranged.
- Lessons can include any or all of the following, as required.
- All of the items listed in the beginner's section.
- Full casting assessment and then a programme to make improvements.
- False casting.
- Greater accuracy.
- Using different line densities and profiles to enable you to fish where the fish are.
- Shooting line for greater distances.
- Use of different techniques to catch more fish.
- Further explanation and uses of equipment - leader set ups, droppers, types of knots, use of indicators etc.
- Basic knowledge of entomology to try and "match the hatch".
- Using conditions to your advantage.
Maybe by this stage you want to progress and have a go at river fishing for trout or even salmon fishing. I do 1to1 full day courses specifically aimed at getting you to aquire all the skills and knowledge required, together with the confidence to have a go yourself in the future.
You will need an E.A Licence which you can get from any main P.O. or from the E.A online. If you have any difficulties let me know and I'll get a licence for you.
