More experienced? Well, you are quite happy fishing at your favourite stillwater, you catch fish but some days are better than others. You may still have difficulty in overcoming adverse weather conditions or maybe you want to cast that little bit further. Stillwaters - "been there done that" it's time to try other forms of flyfishing. Large reservoirs from boat or bank, or even try your hand at river fishing for wild Brownies or Grayling. You simply may just want a little "wash and brush up" on your casting - we all get into bad habits from time to time. All my lessons are 1to1 only unless previously arranged. Lessons can include any or all of the following, as required:
- All of the items listed in the beginners and novice sections to establish knowledge base.
- Full casting assessment and discussion of any particular problems.
- Greater distance using single or double hauls.
- Greater control on windy days.
- Greater loop control.
- Casting across the head or body & side casts.
- Greater accuracy.
- Boat fishing techniques.
- Anchored or drifting.
- Use of drogues.
- Tube fishing
- River fishing techniques - dry fly, nymphing, wet flies, North Country Spiders, Czech nymphing.
- More in depth look at entomology particularly the main species of interest to fly fishing both aquatic and terrestrial.
Salmon fishing
- In depth look at your casting technique and suggested improvements.
- Can you cast equally as well of both sides?
- Equipment selection - rods. lines to suit the prevailing conditions.
